"I'm not quite sure what made me choose "A Cookie For Your Thoughts". I kept going over all the prints and found myself going back to that one over and over. Maybe it's the way the women seem to be connected and their quiet, content demeanor. Maybe the fact that they're Oriental, barefoot, and there are three of them reminds me of the three of us. We love our men, but women have a special bond and I think your piece really shows that. Thank you so much. I just love it!"
Jill Woehrle, Reiki Master, PA.
After learning she won, Pat promptly purchased another print and upon receiving her prints Pat wrote "Received the two prints you sent and I just love them!!!!! The 8 ply matts are wonderful, do you cut them yourself? I do custom picture framing and Polaroid transfers so I can appreciate a nice piece when I see it. The images are just awesome, (what an imagination you have). Thank you, Pat"
Pat Kierston, N.Y.
The winners of the Free Art Print are Rick and Connie Nichols of Milford, PA. Upon learning that they won Rick wrote "What a nice surprise! At your show at Works Frame Shop, my wife liked the Dreamscape - e.e. cummings -" It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are". So I guess that will be the one. I know she also spoke to you about a sketch of our house in the Spring when the front yard is complete. Once again -Thank You -We really enjoy your work, it is lively and fun.
I LOVE your paintings - yellow
submarine meets strawberry shortcake! Quaint but sort of trippy, too -
I really like the 'dreamscapes' series - very cool. And I like the
inspirational quotes beside the paintings, very nice. Eric Hibit, painter
I really enjoy the rich colors and whimsical style. And, bear looks very contented to be home after a long day of berry hunting.
Gary Ingram, N.J.
"I especially liked the cozy cottage trio. I feel the free use of the medium meshes well with your approach to drawing. The element of chance brought in with the interaction of fluid line and color, gives vitality and a little drama. With your easy going linework and your tendancy to color within the lines, that uncertainess can challenge your mastery; put you out on a limb sort-to-speak. This can bring in unexpected results which lend demension as in serendipity. Like, the feeling wow, she just pulled that one off, or like "luck" which can be wonderful. In general, an element of risk which is a great complement to what you can already do so well. In short, rock on." Larry Zampino, furniture maker
Upon arriving at my pottery shop this morning, I was so delighted to find "Happiness Often Sneaks in Through a Door You Didn't Know You Left Open" waiting for me. What a great image! It's like Dr. Seuss meets Santa Fe. I have the perfect spot for it. Thanks so much Joann. Nick Friedman, potter, Brevard, N.C.
I cannot tell you how pleased I am to have been selected to receive one of your beautiful prints. I was lucky many years ago to get a hold of one of your original sketches. It is a picture of a young girl planting strawberries (I believe it is a self portrait), it still hangs on one my walls at home. After purchasing another one of your prints, I have chosen another print to hang in our living room. Your paintings, to me ( the ones I enjoy), display a simple elegance that uses soft colors. The prints I have chosen of the cottages bring a relaxing and comforting feeling to our place in the woods. In my work stressful world, your paintings allow me to escape, and go to another place.
