 Silver Lake detail
This is a detail of a large pen and ink landscape (that measures 40" x 28"). The landscape included over 25 homes and boat houses, as well as a large lake (Silver Lake) and landscapes with white birches, oaks, evergreen trees, blueberry bushes, ferns and more. What makes this piece so special to me is the ink and the pen, the tools that became a source of expressing what my words cannot say about texture, light, and quality of lines. It became a saga of describing a time now long past, that was a slower pace and of simpler expectations. The idea for this landscape was the conception of the lady who resides in "Escarpada", a home that was built by her husband's family in the 1800's. Although the project was several months in the making, and now that it is completed I am ready to move on, it is not without some sense of sentiment about saying goodbye and hoping to revisit this style and technique in future projects.
